Japanese artist, Mr Riu, primarily creates intricate mandalas and delicate patterns. His artwork is strangely hypnotizing to look at. We can only imagine just how much patience is required to cut these works of art using just a craft knife. He hopes that his work will guide his son (and everyone else) to peace on Earth. Famous Salvador Dali Artwork

Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was a Spanish artist who is well-known for his works of Surrealism, an important 20th century movement that focused primarily on literature and art. Surrealist art rejects the rational: and aims to channel the unconsciousness in order to unlock the power of imagination. Dali liked to use extensive symbolism in his art, and recurring images, such as elephants with brittle legs which allude to weightlessness; ants, which are thought to be Dali's symbol for death and decay; and melting watches, symbolic of our non-linear perception of time. Dali was expelled from the Surrealist movement due to constant clashes with its members, but that has not stopped him from becoming the most influential of Surrealist artists, and perhaps the most famous 20th century painter after Picasso. Below are 10 of Dali's most famous paintings.

Underwater Photography Contest 2017

Organizers from the Underwater Photographer of the Year Contest have recently announced their winning photos for 2017. The winner, Gabriel Barathieu, beat entrants from 67 countries around the world with his stunning photograph of an octopus in the lagoon of the island of Mayotte.
